The joy of giving

Sometimes when dealing with our own economical issues and daily crisis we forget that as bad as we may have it there are others that have it even harder.  I was on one of my forums today and came across a posting for Kiva.  I had visited their site a couple of years ago but did not know or understand exactly what it was.

Finding out more about it and the fact they are giving a free trial of $25.00 that I could donate to whom ever I wanted I decided to check it out.  What could it hurt they did not require I sign up for a dedicated monthly subscription.  Even better the money Kiva does get they do not keep, they use it all for distributing to the field partners who distribute the loans.  They also do not charge interest.

For every person that signs up through my link I get another $25.00 that I can donate towards another person.  For my initial donation I chose a woman in Kenya who is asking for a loan to buy supplies for her Cafe.  The link below you can find out about Joyce and her story.

The money you lend you will get back as the loans are repaid and you are then able to re-loan the money to help another person.  Though $25.00 may not seem like a lot to some it can go a long way in other places.  Personally I do not have an extra $25.00  at the moment but as soon as I do I think I know what I will be doing with it.

Again if you are interested please use my link as everyone who signs up I will be able to help that many more people.  It is a difficult choice as there are many seeking.  Hope you all have a wonderful week and your Monday feels more like a Friday.
